    Product Overview

The column turns onto the chaussée. Boots on stone. Hooves on stone. Wheels rattling on stone. The grass shoulder runs alongside, trampled from a hundred years of the same march.

    That's this set.

These are FeltPro™ Cut & Play Cobblestone Roads — a 4" stone roadbed with green verge running along both sides, delivered on a 50" × 60" sheet. Long straights run a full 42", because Napoleonic columns, wagon trains, and pike blocks don't want to stop every 12 inches. Part of the FeltPro™ system, not a standalone mat.

    What you get:

    • 5 long straights at ~42" × 4" (the stone) with grass verge on both sides
    • T-junction, 4-way intersection, and Y-junction
    • Angular chevron bend and corner pieces
    • Two generous 90° curves at the bottom
    • Cobblestone-to-dirt transition pieces — the point where the paved road ends and the country track begins
    • Roughly 270"+ of total road — over 22 feet of cobblestone across the sheet
    • Delivered on a 50" × 60" FeltPro™ sheet

The transition piece does something no one else offers. It's the hand-off. Pair this set with our FeltPro™ Cut & Play Dirt Roads (large or small) and the transition piece becomes the seam — the place where the cobblestones end and the dirt track begins. Outside the town gates. Past the last farm. Where the king's road gives up and becomes a rutted trail. Drop it in, butt the dirt road up against it, and the system extends. That's the FeltPro™ system at work.

About the verge. The green grass shoulder on either side of the stone is a feature, not filler. Leave it on for a rural European road — the kind that winds between Peninsular villages or cuts across a Belgian field. Trim it off flush to the stone for a tight town street where buildings press against the curb. Trim it unevenly for a neglected road the grass is reclaiming. Your table, your call.

Cut & Play means exactly that. Scissors. That's the tool. Trim a straight into a shorter connector. Round the corners of an intersection. Carve a widening where the road opens into a village square, then narrow it back down on the far side. Split a curve in half to tighten the radius around a church. Cut the verge into a wavy edge where the road has eroded. These are felt. They're meant to be cut. Cut with confidence.

Then drape them. That's the third dimension nobody else gives you. Lay a straight over a rise and it holds the crest. Drop a curve through a shallow valley and it sinks in. Cavalry gallops up an actual slope. Limbers grind over real ground. No more flat chaussée pretending to be a hill.

    Why FeltPro™:

    • Lightweight. Roll it, fold it, toss it in a bag. A 50×60 cobblestone road shouldn't require a gym membership to move.
    • Real topography. Cut & Play pieces drape over your existing terrain and hold shape under minis and vehicles.
    • A system, not a mat. Transition pieces link this set to the FeltPro™ Dirt Roads sets so your road network keeps going past the town limits.
    • Costs less than neoprene. You shouldn't have to pay rubber-yoga-mat money for cobblestones.

    Built for:

    • Napoleonics — chaussées, village approaches, march columns through the Peninsula
    • ACW — town streets, pike-and-plank supplements, bridge approaches
    • ECW / Pike & Shotte — market town streets, village crossroads
    • Dark Ages & Medieval — Roman road remnants, town approaches
    • WW2 — European village streets, Normandy and Italian hill-town fighting
    • Fantasy / Frostgrave / Mordheim — old empire roads, ruined capital streets

Works for Black Powder, Sharp Practice, General d'Armée, Bolt Action, Chain of Command, SAGA, Mordheim, Frostgrave — anywhere stone underfoot is part of the story.

The road was here before the war. It'll be here after.
