Then everybody plays it over a bare table, and the one piece of terrain in the whole game becomes a note somebody has to remember.

These are the clouds. Cut out the shapes, lay them on the mat, and cloud becomes a place you can fly into instead of a rule you argue about.

Cut once, then rearrange forever. Clear morning with two lonely towers. Broken cover across the whole sector. A solid bank pushed up against one flank so half the table is blind. Same sheet, different sky, every game.
