Trees are the bulkiest, most fragile, most expensive terrain most players own, and a decent wood needs a lot of them. This sheet gives you the woods without the forest.

Nine woodland areas printed on FeltPro™ material, drawn as canopy seen from above — treetops, gaps, shaded ground and worn dirt paths beneath. Cut them out, lay them on your mat, and you have area terrain with a defined edge. It reads as woods on its own.

Add your own trees on top if you have them. Three or four stands scattered across a printed wood look like a forest. The same stands on bare cloth look like three or four trees.

Cut them however you want!

The printed outlines are a starting point, not a pattern. Cut inside them, across them, or ignore them entirely.

• Trim a copse into a crescent to wrap a hilltop
• Slice the large wood into strips for hedgerows and windbreaks
• Cut a clearing out of the middle of a mid-size piece for an objective
• Square off an edge to run a wood against a road or river
• Split one large piece into six irregular fragments of broken scrub

Like all our Cut & Play pieces, these lie flat on your FeltPro™ mat and follow the contours of whatever's underneath.

Put a riser beneath your FeltPro™ base mat — foam, a hardback, a stack of magazines — and the mat drapes over it to make a real slope. The woodland piece then drapes over that, so a wood on a hillside genuinely sits on the hillside: the ground rises through the trees, models stand at a grade, and the crest breaks line of sight. Rigid plastic and MDF templates can't do this.

The same flexibility means trees come off and go back on freely. Lift a tree aside to place a squad inside the wood, and the printed footprint still marks the area for cover and movement. And because it's the same material as every other Cut & Play sheet, these woods will match your roads, rivers and other Cut & Play pieces.
